Engineered for consistency, durability & performance.
Since 1999, KL Rubber has supplied high-quality rubber bands and packaging solutions to distributors, food processors, seafood operations, and fulfillment centers across North America. Every batch we ship follows a documented quality-control process from raw material to final inspection.
What quality means at KL Rubber.
Our quality system is built around three core pillars: material standards, process control, and performance testing. Together, they ensure consistency from shipment to shipment.
Material standards
We use high-grade natural rubber and food-contact–safe raw materials from verified suppliers. Premium lines do not use recycled rubber, helping you avoid unwanted variability in tensile strength and elasticity.
Process control
Each production batch follows documented SOPs – from compounding and mixing to cutting, drying, and packaging. Critical parameters are monitored and recorded in batch reports so we can trace and repeat what works.
Performance testing
Regular tests on tensile strength, elongation, dimensions, and durability ensure each product performs as intended in the field – whether it is bundling vegetables, securing lobster claws, or supporting postal logistics.
Rubber band quality-control process.
Our rubber bands go through multiple checkpoints before they reach your warehouse. Below is a simplified view of the typical quality-control flow.
Raw material check
Latex quality, purity, and formulation are checked against internal specifications. We monitor latex content and key additives to maintain stable elasticity and pull strength.
Compounding & mixing
Rubber compounds are mixed to a defined recipe. Temperature, mixing time, and chemical ratios are controlled to deliver consistent performance between production runs.
Cutting & sizing
Bands are cut to precise width and circumference. We perform dimensional checks to confirm that key sizes remain within specification tolerances suitable for your application.
Tensile & elongation testing
Sample bands from each batch are tested for tensile strength and elongation. This ensures that they stretch without breaking and return properly after use.
Aging & durability simulations
Heat-aging and tension-cycle tests are used to simulate real-world storage and usage. We look for changes in strength, elasticity, and surface condition over time.
Visual & surface inspection
Bands are inspected for foreign-material contamination, uneven cuts, surface defects, and color inconsistency before final packing and shipment.
Poly bags: clean, consistent & food-contact safe.
KL Rubber poly bags are produced using 100% virgin polyethylene with food-contact–safe resins. They support applications from seafood and frozen products to portioning and retail packs.
For reclosable, portion, and pound bags, each batch is tested to keep film quality, clarity, and seal integrity consistent:
- Film thickness and tolerance across the roll or batch
- Seal strength for freezing, shipping, and daily handling
- Puncture resistance for heavy or sharp products
- Clarity and visual cleanliness for food-contact applications
- Use of 100% virgin resins in critical food-contact lines
For customers focused on sustainability, we can discuss recyclable and eco-driven material options while still maintaining product performance for your specific use case.
Our team can help you choose bag types, thickness, and formats that balance cost, durability, and compliance with your buyers’ requirements.
Compliance, safety & documentation support.
Distributors and processors often need documentation for regulators, auditors, or end customers. We provide quality and compliance documents to support your sales and operations.
Food-contact safety
Documentation aligned with FDA food-contact guidelines and Canadian CFIA packaging expectations, where applicable to specific products and uses.
MSDS & specifications
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), specification sheets, and technical data are available for many product lines to support your internal and customer-facing requirements.
Certificates of Analysis
For larger or ongoing programs, we can provide Certificates of Analysis by lot or shipment, tied to test results and retained samples when required.
Lot traceability
Lot numbers and batch records can be traced back through production. This is especially helpful for seafood, produce, and export-focused customers.
Custom QC reports
For private-label or strategic programs, we can align our QC reporting with your internal quality system and buyer specifications.
Quality team access
Our team is available to answer quality-related questions from your buyers and audit teams, helping you close deals and maintain long-term accounts.
Built for real-world applications.
Our quality and testing system is designed around the everyday realities of high-throughput, high-expectation environments.
